ARTILLERY Schedule Copenhagen Concert
November 15, 2004Legendary Danish thrashers ARTILLERY have announced a one-off performance at The Rock in Copenhagen on December 16. Joining guitarists Michael and Morten Stützer and vocalist Flemming Rönsdorf will be HATESPHERE drummer Anders Gyldenøhr and bassist Mikael Ehlert.
In a recent interview with Denmark's Antenna webzine, Michael Stützer spoke about the group's current status and their future plans.
"Well, at the moment we have plans to play one concert on the ongoing Retaliation Tour as headliner but it depends on whether we can assemble the band again or not," he said. "We have received an offer to play there and it's supposed to be December [16th] so we really need to get the finger out in order to be able to do it but besides that we have kept a low profile but the band haven't split or anything. The last thing we actually did was the gig on Wacken Open Air but besides that we have only spoken together. Morten and I have of course made lots of new songs but we haven't really been out and try them if you could put it that way. We have just finished them as demo tracks. So now we just have to wait and see what happens."
Antenna: Is vocalist Flemming Rönsdorf still a part of the band?
Michael Stützer: "Yes, Flemming is still in the band. What we decided were that if we play as ARTILLERY, then Flemming has got to be a part of it but the question is how much he's interested in participating. He's never been as involved in the same way as the rest of us but we'll just have to wait and see. We're still good friends. There are no hard feelings or anything so it's definitely not there there's any problems. We've said the whole time that the desire to do has to be there. It's not going to be something you do just for the sake of doing something. It has to come from the inside and the will to do it has to be there. Like when we made 'B.A.C.K.' that was fun. But we used drummer Per [Møller] from THE HAUNTED so the question is also whether he has the time to play 'cause he's obviously pretty booked. We would prefer to use him if possible."
